Description

consist of demolition of structures, equipment, piping, and related materials in areas of construction as specified in the technical specifications and construction drawings. The project also consists of construction of various components of the primary spillway structure, including new spillway training walls, concrete spillway chute with under-slab drainage system, sheet pile cutoff walls, concrete intake structure with sluice gate, stop log systems, and low-level outlet; and driven pile foundations. The spillway work will require cofferdams to divert tailwater from the work area and retain the raw water reservoir, which must remain in service during construction. Control of seepage and groundwater intrusion into excavations will be an important aspect of the project and will likely require a well-point or deep well dewatering system. Existing underground utilities such as the inter-plant residuals pipeline and fiber optic communication line will be re-routed as part of the project. The project will also include construction of a cast in place concrete parapet wall along the crest of the embankment sections of the dam The Work includes: 1) Furnishing all the labor, material, superintendence, power, lighting, heating, fueling, water, tools, equipment, supplies and associated appurtenances required for the performance and completion of the Work under this Contract. 2) Maintenance of the Work area. 3) Diversion and control of water while maintaining reservoir levels at specified elevations as indicated in the Contract Documents. 4) Protection of finished and unfinished Work. 5) Repair and restoration of Work and/or adjacent facilities damaged during construction. 2. Implied and Normally Required Work: It is the intent of these Contract Documents to provide the Owner with complete operable systems, subsystems, and other items of Work. Any part or item of Work which is reasonably implied or normally required to make each installation satisfactory and completely operable is deemed to be included in the Work and the Contract Amount. All miscellaneous appurtenances and other items of Work incidental to the intent of the Contract Documents are included in the Work and Contract Amount, even though these appurtenances may not be specifically called for in the Contract Documents. 3. Quality of Work: Regard the apparent silence of the Contract Documents as to any detail, or the apparent omission from them of a detailed description concerning any Work to be done and materials to be furnished as meaning that only the best general practice is to prevail and that only materials and workmanship of the best quality are to be used. Interpretation of these Contract Documents will be made upon this basis. 4. Compliance with Laws: Comply with all local, State, and Federal laws, rules, ordinances, and regulations applicable to this Contract and the Work completed herein. Obtain all permits, licenses, or other authorization necessary for the prosecution of the Work. The costs for all such permits shall be included in the Contract Amount and no separate payment will be made therefor. Question Submission Deadline May 3, 2023, 1:00pm Questions regarding this Invitation for Bid (IFB) must be submitted in writing through the OpenGov Procurement Question/Answer Tab via the City's e-Procurement portal Project value is expected to fall between $18M and $30M
