Description

The work under this contract consists of providing all necessary labor, materials, parts and equipment required to service and repair boilers at the Mamaroneck, Peekskill, Port Chester and Yonkers Joint Water Resource Recovery Facilities. The Contract duration is for two (2) years. The Contract may be extended by mutual consent of the Contractor and the County of Westchester for one (1) additional two year term with all prices, terms and conditions remaining the same as the original contract. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK Work under this Contract includes all necessary labor, materials, parts and equipment required to: 1.1. Perform annual inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and emergency services on all boilers which are located at Mamaroneck, Peekskill, Port Chester and Yonkers Joint Water Resource Recovery Facilities operated by Westchester County. A complete listing of boilers and their locations are given separately in the section titled ‘Contract Item Specifications.’ 1.2. This Contract and the Lump Sum Bid shall cover parts, materials and labor relative to the boilers, burners and their ancillary equipment such as, but not limited to, oil pumps, heaters, air compressors, induced draft fans, boiler trim and accessories, and combustion operating and safety controls. 1.3. Work required on the boilers other than specified shall be done as directed by the County and will be paid for out of Miscellaneous Additional Work (MAW) item W-800 as described in Article 30 on the General Clauses. 1.4. The term of this Contract is for a period of two (2) consecutive years. 1.5. The primary requirement of this Contract is that all included equipment shall be maintained in peak operating condition and that all preventative maintenance (per equipment manufacturer’s recommendation) and provisions of this Contract are to be done to ensure maximum performance under design conditions at all times throughout the term of the Contract. 1.6. The County reserves the right to do any portion of this work with its own forces or solicit bids from other contractors if it is in the best interest of the County. 1.7. The Contractor shall not subcontract more than forty-nine percent (49%) of the Contractor's bid. 1.8. It is not intended that this description of work mention each particular item required but that it gives information concerning the general scope and areas of work for the convenience of the bidders. 1.9. Bidders shall take note that the County reserves the right to award the Contract to the Bidder whose proposal, after proper and thorough analysis by the County will serve the best interests of the County.
