Description

The work includes the rehabilitation of Runway 18-36. Rehabilitation consists of full depth reconstruction and crack seat and asphalt overlay along a portion of Runway 18-36. Contract time to complete this work will be One Hundred Eighty (180) consecutive calendar days. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid is required. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. Questions relating to the Bid Documents and bidding will be answered at that time. Questions regarding website registration, online orders or electronic bidding, please contact Plan House Printing at (228) 248-0181. a) Runway Rehabilitation The project will include in rehabilitation and reconstruction of the portion of Runway 18/36 south of the Runway 18/36 and Runway 13/31 intersection. The rehabilitation will include crack and seat of the existing concrete pavement and nominal 5-inch asphalt overlay. The reconstruction will include removal of the concrete pavement and replacement with a new flexible pavement section. Reconstruction will be required along the first 700ft of Runway 36 and at the runway intersection. Reconstruction is required to meet FAA designs standards for grading. b) Markings and Grooving Temporary markings will be applied after paving is complete. Temporary markings will only be applied on the south section of Runway 18/36. Permanent markings will be applied after 30 day curing period. Permanent markings will be applied on the entire Runway 18/36. The south section of Runway 18/36 will be grooved after the 30-day curing period. c) MIRL Adjustments The Contractor will adjust the existing light bases as needed using riser rings. Adjustment will be based on final edge of pavement. A detail will be issued with the Addendum. d) Shoulder Redressing The Contractor shall redress the existing shoulder after placement of asphalt. Redressing will include the addition and/or removal of topsoil as needed to meet the FAA required pavement detail. The Contractor shall place solid sod along the first three foot of the runway shoulder. The remainder shall be seeded. a) Bid Opening - April 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM local time b) Estimated contraction NTP - Late October 2022 c) Contract time - 180 calendar days Engineer's Estimate - $4,500,000 Goals for minority participation for each trade: 27.7% Goals for female participation in each trade: 6.9%
