Description

The project, partially funded by the US Department of Commerce, through an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant, is located at the Flowing Seawater Laboratory (FSL) building at the Darling Marine Center (DMC) in Walpole ME. The base Scope consists of three components. The first is a new land-based pump house and seawater intake infrastructure to replace the existing dock-based pumping system. The second is selective renovation of the FSL to improve its seawater research capabilities. The third is the electrical and plumbing improvements to support the new renovation improvements and supply services to the new dock being constructed under a separate contract. This project has the following alternatives, if necessary, listed in the order for which they are to be applied: Deduct/Alternate #1: New 800 amp Building Feeder – See Section 01 23 00 for complete scope. Deduct/Alternate #2: New Heat Pump Station – See Section 01 23 00 for complete scope. Deduct/Alternate #3: New Seawater Heating System – See Section 01 23 00 for complete scope. Deduct/Alternate #4: New Hayward Bag Filter System – See Section 01 23 00 for complete scope.
