Description | Tracks at Brea Western Extension Community Outreach and Concept Design All questions must be put in writing and must be received by the City via e-mail no later than 4:00 p.m., November 9, 2022 to E-Mail: Wade Whitman, Management Analyst, e-mail address is wadew@cityofbrea.net The proposal shall be submitted via e- mail, including both the scope and fee in one consolidated document in PDF format, entitled: "Tracks at Brea Western Extension (Brea Canyon Flood Control Channel to Berry Street) Community Outreach and Concept Design." Proposals received after the specified time will not be accepted and will be returned to the Offeror via e-mail notification. Project Description: The proposed project will engage community stakeholders to plan a vision for extending the successful Tracks at Brea park setting upon the "Western Extension". While the Western Extension includes secured funding for a 1,300-feet long paved active transportation path, the remaining 120-feet cross-section needs funding for park development. Located west of Brea Canyon Flood Channel, the project will plan for a transition of the abandoned railroad right-of-way into an accessible passive park that restores the natural setting for enjoyment by residents, visitors, and strengthens an ecosystem for the flora and fauna. Through low impact development, educational opportunities, creation of wildlife habitat areas, native plantings, stormwater and water quality management components, the project will provide public, water, conservation, and ecological benefits. The proposed project will work with community members and interested stakeholders to develop concepts, evaluate permitting needs, and identify next steps to implementation of the new green infrastructure area. Refer to Attachment 2 showing a draft concept for the park that will be comprehensively refined and updated based on community engagement, existing conditions review, and constraints analysis |
