Description

This project is to provide process upgrades, replacement and rehabilitation of the existing Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant treatment units The City staff has been working on an overall conceptual design of wastewater treatment process upgrades. The whole project scope may include demolishing the existing primary clarifiers, adding aeration basin volume, replacing the existing coarse bubble aeration with fine bubble aeration, installing one new final clarifier, and installing new flow distribution channel to the three final clarifiers, converting Primary Digester Nos. 2 and 3 from anaerobic digesters to aerated sludge holding tanks, replacing the Dissolved Air Flotation Thickener (DAFT) with three rotary drum thickeners, and replacing the belt filter presses with screw / volute presses. Considering budget availability, the whole project will be divided into two phases and completed within approximately 8 years. As of November 14, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2024 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
