Germantown Water Tower

A. This task order is to obtain Contractor Design-Build (DB) services to implement DOE recommendations in order to obtain recertification of the water tower in accordance with the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Appendix A (List of Modifications/Repairs/Upgrades) includes the list of DOE approved recommendations. It includes repair/update/replace cathodic protection, fall protection, and Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and Stress Analysis to determine the integrity of the water tower structure. B. The design-build work shall include updating the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lighting system on the water tower, replacing valves in the concrete valve pit below the water tower, and providing variable speed drives for pumps in the Boiler House to maintain water pressure for the interim condition while the water tower is out of service. Training shall be provided to plant personnel on operation of the temporary variable speed drives. C. The design phase of the project shall take 13 weeks (91 calendar days). The construction phase shall take 180 calendar days from the Government’s acceptance of the final design submission. The total period of performance for the contract is 271 calendar days.
