Description

INVITATION TO BID FOR Barrington Community Unit School District 220 2023 Rejuvenator Pavement Maintenance Barrington, Illinois 2. AVAILABILITY OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: On October 10, 2022 after 9:00 A.M., Bid Packets may be obtained from the Engineer's website. This link will take Bidders to the Gewalt Hamilton Associates landing page and will display all available projects. The download cost for this project is $20.00. Please contact at 952-233- 1632 or info@questcdn.com for assistance in free membership registration, downloading, and working with this digital information. Hard copies of the bid documents may also be viewed at no cost or obtained for a non-refundable fee of $150 at Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc., 625 Forest Edge Drive, Vernon Hills, Illinois, 60061 (847-478-9700). 3. PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS: All bidders will submit along with their respective bid documents, a resume of similar projects performed, enumerated as to location, type of work, approximate completion date, and project engineering firm. Additionally, all bidders will submit a list of equipment owned by, or available to them, for the efficient pursuance of the project. 4. PROGRESS SCHEDULE: All bidders will submit along with their respective bid documents, a satisfactory progress schedule or critical path schedule which shall show the proposed sequence of work, and how the Contractor proposes to complete the various items of work on or before the completion date specified. Contractor shall work around the individual summer school schedules provided on the plans and listed in the special provisions. Failure to provide a satisfactory progress schedule in the bid package will, at the discretion of the District, be disqualified. 5. WAGES OF EMPLOYEES: Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as found by the Department of Labor or determined by a court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workers and mechanics performing work under this contract. Certified payroll documentation of general contractor's and all sub-contractors' laborers will be required. 6. REJECTION OF BIDS: The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and bidders and to waive technicalities. 7. LOCATION OF THE WORK: Administration Building, Countryside Elementary School, and Roslyn Road Elementary School under School District 220 authority within the Villages of Barrington and Barrington Hills found in Cook, and Lake County. 8. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Project will include but not limited to: Rejuvenator material to existing asphalt. This project is to be bid as a lump sum contract with supplemental unit prices. 9. BID SECURITY: Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond or Certified Check for ten percent (10%) of the base bid made payable to the Barrington Community Unit School District 220 shall accompany the bid. 10.OWNER: Barrington Community Unit School District 220, 515 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010. 11.CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE: All Rejuvenator work shall be completed during the weekend (starting Friday and re-opening parking lot Sunday night). The Contractor shall begin the work to be performed under the contract after Thursday, June 8, 2023. The Contractor shall be substantially complete by Friday, August 4, 2023 and final completion by Friday, August 11, 2023. Substantial Completion is defined as all improvements except restoration. Final completion is defined as restoration and punch list items. In case of failure to complete the work on time, liquidated damages shall be assessed in accordance with Article 108.09 of the Standard Specifications or other applicable BDE Special Provisions shall apply. Note: A second site contractor maybe be present at all 3 sites, therefore a one (1) week notice will be required prior to the rejuvenator work being installed. School District recommends that his work occur on the Friday of the Juneteenth Holiday weekend to provide adequate cure time, subject to weather, but the work may occur on any weekend as coordinated with the construction schedule.
