Description | Bids will be received for furnishing all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to construct and finish complete the Union Baptist Church roof renovations, consisting of slate roof renovations, flashing replacement & repair, exterior carpentry restoration and associated work. The Contract will include building exterior renovations and all other work necessary for or incidental to the completion of the project. The successful bidder will be required to furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bond or Bonds, in the forms included in the Specifications, as well as a certified statement of financial condition, as of a date not exceeding ninety (90) days prior to the date thereof. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding. All Bid Documents must be completely filled in when submitted. A satisfactory Bid Security, in the form of a Bid Bond, certified check or Letter of Credit in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each such document. The Bid Security shall be made payable to the Owner and shall be properly executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the opening of bids or until the next work day immediately following said period, if such period ends on a weekend or a State holiday, without the consent of the above mentioned Owner. The Contractor who is selected to perform this State project must comply with CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60, 40a-60a, 4a-60g, and 46a-68b through 46a-68f, inclusive, as amended by June 2015 Special Session Public Act 15-5. An affirmative Action Plan must be filed with and approved by the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities prior to the commencement of construction. The Contractor shall be required to make good faith efforts to place a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the subcontractors awarded by the general contractor/construction manager at risk with eligible contractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 41-60g, as amended. (25% of the work with DAS certified Small and Minority owned business(s) and 25% of that work with DAS certified Minority, Women and/or Disabled owned businesses.) This project will require prevailing wage rates. Refer to section 00811 of the specifications. The Contractor may be required to provide product samples and mock-ups of materials for review and approval by the Architect and the State Historic Preservation Office prior to the commencement of the Work. |
