Winter Road Maintenance

Winter Road maintenance of approximately 11 miles of town roads. Terms and Conditions of Service include: Equipment and Supplies: Bidders will provide their own plowing and sanding equipment. Including a minimum of two trucks maximum size of two ton s due to road widths and each equipped with wings. A loader to load salt and sand into above vehicles as well as a piece of equipment to push snow banks back, if necessary. Bidders will also provide their own sand and salt, which can be housed at the Town storage facility on Branch Road. Service Area: Includes Middletown Road, Houghton Ledge Road, Davis Road, Branch Road, and the Hardy Hill Road in Marlborough. Also included are the Town Hall parking lot, salt/sand shed depot, Roxbury Emergency vehicles building as well as the old Church site at the top of Middletown Road. Standards: Snow Plowing will commence after two inches of fresh snow has fallen and continue thereafter, every two inches, until the storm's end. Ice control is much more subjective, with the expectation of best practices being applied to minimize road hazards related to ice.
