Description

Provide for the removal and disposal of stabilized, dewatered municipal sludge over a three-year period of time with the option for an owner approved additional two 1-year extensions. Beds 13-20 are approximately 37' x 60' and beds 1-12 are approximately 30'x60'. The walls of each bed are approximately 3’-6" high. Each bed has a distribution pipe attached. The beds contain approximately 2.5 feet of dewatered, stabilized wastewater sludge with phragmites reeds growing in the sludge. Below the sludge is a layer of sand, gravel, and underdrain piping. A total of approximately 630 tons per cell or 1,890 tons of sludge is estimated to be removed from the beds over the next three (3) years and with Owner-approval, an additional 1,260 tons of sludge is estimated to be removed from the beds over the next two (2) years. Preliminary schedule, as attached, is subject to change per Owner direction. Beds 2,4,6,8,10 and 12 are scheduled to be emptied in 2020; Beds 1,3,5,7,9 and 11 are scheduled to be emptied in 2021; Beds 13,15,17 and 19 are scheduled to be emptied in 2022; Beds 14,16,18 and 20 are scheduled to be emptied in 2023 pending Owner approval and Beds 2,4,6,8,10 and 12 are scheduled to be emptied in 2024 pending Owner approval. The Contractor will pay all landfill tipping fees. All weigh slips must be submitted daily to the Wastewater Treatment Facility Superintendent, the Engineer, or their representative. The Contractor’s basis of payment will be based on the weigh slips.
