Description | The work of this contract is to encompass all necessary materials, labor, tools, equipment, incidental items, and supervisors required to complete all work for this project as specified. a) Contractor shall install soffit vents, baffles and blown-in insulation to fill cavities between roof joists. b) Square footage is estimated to be 1,800 sq. ft. c) Insulation shall be brought to R-49 where possible. d) In open knee-wall area fiberglass R-30 batt insulation should be installed e) Spray foam insulation will not be permitted due to historic nature of building. f) Care must be taken to reduce dust and debris where possible with plastic sheeting as this area is an archival storage room. g) Any holes drilled in the plaster walls for installation must be plugged by the contractor. h) Contractor is responsible for keeping area clean and safe and must cordon off the work area. Part of the buildings may be open to the public and has visitors. i) The contractor can stage their material and truck/trailer if necessary in the museum parking lot. Museum staff to designate exact spot. j) All workmanship to have two year minimum warranty. k) Product manufacturer’s warranties must be included with bid. l) The contractor will be held liable for any damages direct or indirect resulting from the conduct in the execution of the work to any public or private property. Such property shall be restored to original condition at the expense of the contractor and to the satisfaction of the city. The city reserves the right to repair the property and deduct the cost of the repair from any amounts owed to the contractor, or to bill the contractor. |
