Description The work will consist of the following restoration objectives: Restoration Objectives: 1. Hydrology: To restore the hydrology and wetland function to areas that were altered by filling and leveling of fields in order to improve pasture land. 2. Wildlife: The restoration of the Seagreen site will create high value habitat for migratory and nesting waterfowl by providing pair pond, nesting, and brood rearing habitat. Riparian vegetation will enhance streamside wildlife. Species utilizing the site may include but are not limited to: mallard, wood duck, and possibly black duck. Other wetland species of birds that may benefit from this project include great blue and green herons. Song birds and New England cottontails will utilize the early successional habitat. Other wetland dependent species of wildlife that may benefit from this project include Muskrat, Mink, Bull Frog, Leopard Frog, Green Frog, and Spring Peeper. 3. Vegetation: The goal is to increase the biodiversity of native vegetation including emergent plants, wetland plants and shrubs, while reducing invasive plants such as reed canary grass, Phragmites, Japanese knotweed, and purple loosestrife.
