Emmett/Ivy Corridor Redevelopment Phase 1 - Gas Relocation Project

Relocate a section of 8” steel, below ground natural gas pipeline within the City of Charlottesville gas distribution system. The work will be performed on the City’s 90 psi gas system and will include the installation of approximately 200 feet of pipeline and the in place abandonment of the existing 8” gas main. The qualified contractor must have proven experience with the installation, testing, and purging of steel natural gas pipelines. The contractor must also have experience with welding, tapping and stopping live steel gas mains, as this project will require hot taps to be made at two separate location. The City of Charlottesville shall perform all inspection of the work. The Contractor is to furnish all labor, material and equipment and any other items necessary for construction/relocation/completion of the project.
