Sauer Construction beat out three other firms for the $20.7 million job, which will see it build a single-story vehicle maintenance and storage facility with shipping/receiving office and storage spaces at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. The firm-fixed-price contract also contains three planned modifications. If they're exercised, it would boost the value of the job to $22.4 million. The project is expected to be complete by June 2024. In February, Sauer received a $19.2 million contract to repair the fitness center at Camp Lejeune, with the work awarded under a previous multiple-award construction contract. Sauer is the third largest defense contractor based on the First Coast. Last year, it received $159.5 million in contract funds from the Department of Defense, primarily doing work for the Army and the Navy. Among its largest projects last year was construction of ammunition facilities and construction of maintenance buildings. _________________________________________________________ SOLICITATION NO.
