Replace Concrete & Diamond Plate Platform

The proposed project is located at 600 West Madison Street Chicago, IL 60661 on the lower level loading dock area. The contractor shall demolish approximately 2” of concrete, located underneath the building’s trash compactor, and replace it with 2” of new concrete. The concrete under the trash compactor is in between the floor mounted sheet metal pads, roughly 70 square feet. Also, there is a floor drain on the concrete pad that the contractor shall protect during demolition and installation. The contractor shall rod the drain and clear it from debris after new concrete is cured. Secondly, the contractor shall remove the mounted diamond plate platform and support stands, which are located to the rear of the trash compactor. The contractor shall replace the diamond plate platform with a 1/4” steel diamond plate and mount it on the wall with 3 ½” angle iron beams. The contractor shall install approximately 9 four-foot (4’) platform support stands for the platform. The platform area is approximately 225 square feet. This platform area also includes a 6 foot by 3 foot landing attached to hydraulic pistons. The contractor shall remove the old railing on the platform and install a new railing around the outside perimeter of the platform. The platform shall be no lower than 42” in height.
