Description

The Scope of Work contemplated and covered in this bid proposal consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required for the removal of Underground Storage Tanks and concrete tank pit cover slab, but not limited to: 1. Remove and dispose of unverified quantity of existing liquids within 3 USTs (1 – 20,000 gal. gasoline tank, 18,000 gal diesel tank and 1- 7,000 gal. gasoline tank). At the time of the site visit, the UST tank fill ports were capped. Assume collectively 1050 gallons of residual fuel contents remain in the tanks which will require proper removal and disposal. 2. Wash and triple rinse USTs after proper removal of remaining liquids prior to removing tanks from the ground. Submit documentation provided by specialty UST wash contractor. 3. Remove the concrete slab covering the tanks and associated piping to facilitate removal of USTs. The area of the existing covering for the tank pit is approximately 1,444 sq. ft. (38’ x 38’). 4. Work must be completed within the required right of way and demolition easement areas. The adjacent convenience store business will remain in operation with access from Moseri Road. Fueling operations have been suspended. 5. Remove 3 USTs (1 – 20,000 gal. gasoline tank, 1- 8,000 gal diesel tank and 1- 7,000 gal. gasoline tank). Cut and cap product piping at the wall of the tank pit. Backfill and compact with new, non-contaminated, acceptable soil. 6. Provide field sampling and lab analyses analysis for all tanks and soil piles as required by regulation. 7. Conduct Water Resources Survey and prepare UST Closure Report, including Form 7530-1. Submit the UST Closure Report to the project consultant for review. 8. Submit photographic documentation to the project consultant of the tanks following their removal from the tank pit, as well as the empty tank pit. 9. Submit documentation of disposal of the tanks to the project consultant. 10. After tank removal and fill is completed, the area where the paving was demolished to access tanks shall be graded as required to promote drainage and eliminate ponding. 11. Area shown in yellow on attached Figure 1, approximately 250 SF, in the demolition easement will be restored by installing exterior reinforced concrete slab in similar thickness to existing slab using high early strength concrete mix in accordance with GDOT specifications. The concrete shall be placed on a gravel bed of no less than 4” and the concrete shall be reinforced with 6” x 6” WWM. 12. Once the new grade has been prepared in the Right of Way, the Demolition Contractor shall apply temporary seeding and straw cover to stabilize the demolition area and assist in erosion control, as prescribed in the GESA Handbook, 2" - 4" of dry straw covering (Ds1, Ds2) grass seed mixtures based on the season of the year and the geographic area. 13. Install orange barrier fencing along right of way line, approximately 175 LF. 14. The escape of sediment from the site shall be prevented by the installation of erosion and sediment control measures and practices prior to land disturbing activities. The Contractor is required to follow all erosion, runoff, and sediment control practices, including erecting of silt fencing or other measures as necessary, as required by local, state, and federal regulations. All erosions control measures shall comply with 2019 Georgia Code, TITLE 12 - Conservation and Natural Resources, Chapter 7 - Control of Soil Erosion and Sedimentation.
