Description

As of October 4, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The work generally consists of removing the existing flat and shingle roof systems down to the base sheathing, inspecting deck and advising owner if any sections require removal and replacing any broken/rotted sections, reline/solder the built-in box gutters, fabricated to match specifications, install new bronze colored aluminum drain leaders. The New Roof (A-Front of Building) (See Diagram), includes removing all layers of existing roof material, furnishing and installation of new ice and water shield at perimeter with furnishing and installation of underlayment on balance of roof furnish and install new GAF Timberline HDZ shingle, or approved equal, color to be chosen by Owner. Contractor to notify Owner if existing decking or any portion thereof should be removed and replaced due to decay. Also, furnish and install new pipe flashing at existing vents. At chimney, provide new 20 oz. copper cricket, fully soldered including step flashing, counter flashing, and transition. Provide framing as required. Replace existing counter flashing and step flashing. Upon Completion of shingle roof system, furnish and install new hip/ridge vent (Cobra RigidVent3, or approved equal for this application). Cut the existing wood deck at ridge to install new ridge vent. Inspect existing copper gutter system and notify Owner of condition. If box structure and copper inlay of gutter system is satisfactory, contractor to properly solder any displaced seams. Remove and replace all leaders with new bronze colored aluminum leaders. At pocket behind Cupola , furnish and install new 20 oz. copper flashing. Fully solder all seams. Provide terminations required, adhering to SMACNA standards. Provide Owner with GAF Golden Pledge Warranty. Contractor shall provide a 3- year warranty against leakage due to workmanship. Contractor to provide dumpsters and properly dispose of all debris. All nails used are to be stainless steel. The New Roof (B-Middle of Building) (See Diagram), includes removing the existing roof system in its entirety to expose the existing roof deck. Remove all existing drains and properly dispose of all debris in dumpsters supplied by contractor. Inspect deck and advise Owner if replacement is required. Provide and install new drains. Cut existing copper drain pipe and tie into new PVC pipe as required. Install new base sheet to the existing deck and hold in place with mechanical fasteners. Install new 1-1/2 inch lso insulation and secure with plates and screws 1 per 2 SF. Install new 1/4 inch lso cricket between drains to promote positive drainage. Fully adhere new Versico 060 TPO membrane, or approved equal, to new insulation. At perimeter, provide new wall flashings, and terminations as required. At edges, provide new metal gravel stop and flashing. Provide Owner with Manufacturer's 20 year NOL Warranty. Contractor shall also provide Owner with a 3-year warranty against leakage due to faulty workmanship. Contractor to provide dumpster(s) and properly dispose of all debris. The New Roof {C-Rear of Building) {See Diagram), includes removing the existing 2 layers of shingle roof and underlayment down to the existing wood deck. Contractor to inspect and advise Owner if replacement of any wood decking is required. Inspect existing copper gutter system and notify owner of condition. If Owner accepts gutter system as good condition, contractor to properly solder copper seams as necessary. Remove and replace all roof leaders with new bronze colored aluminum leaders. Furnish and install new ice and water shield at perimeter. Furnish and install new synthetic underlayment on balance of roof. Furnish and install new GAF Timberline HDZ shingle, or approved equal, color to be chosen by Owner. Furnish and install all new pipe flashing at existing vents. Upon completion of new shingle roof system, furnish and install new hip/ridge cap. Cut the existing wood deck at the ridge and install a ridge vent (GAF Cobra RigidVent3, or approved equal). Provide Owner with GAF Golden Pledge Warranty. Contractor shall also provide a 3-year warranty against leakage due to faulty workmanship. Contractor to supply dumpsters and properly dispose of all debris. All nails to be stainless steel. Cupola Reconstruction {See Diagram), Fully restore existing Cupola by removal and replacement of existing metal roof systems at all levels, including copper cap and weathervane. Replace all wood at perimeter. Remove and replace all trim and moldings around perimeter including louver vents. Paint all upon completion of restorative work with proper oil based exterior white color. Restore both existing clocks. Alternate Item No 1 includes the application of Gold Leaf coating system to new copper cap and weathervane. Bidders are notified that they must comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963, as amended) and that award will not be made to any bidder whom the Commissioner of Labor and Industry does not certify. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided, in the manner designated therein and required by the Specifications. A Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Record of Recent Contract Awards must also accompany the proposal on the forms provided. This project will be subject to prevailing wage rates, Chapter 150, L. 1963 (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56 et. seq., which are on file in the office of the Township Engineer Proposal Forms Shall Not Be Removed From the Form of Proposal. Proposals Must Be Made Upon the Blank Forms Provided and Submitted in the Bound Book, Which Shall Be Left Whole and Intact in Every Respect. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975 Chapter 127 for an affirmative action program for equal employment opportunity. If awarded a contract, your company/firm will be required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. Bidders must also comply with the requirements of P.L. 1977, Chapter 33 amending the Local Public Contracts Law. Bidders must submit a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all the stockholders in the corporation or members of the partnership who own ten percent or more of its stock, or have a ten percent or greater interest in the case of partnership. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the opening of bids. A Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or all proposals will be rejected within ninety (90) days after the opening of bids. Any questions shall be submitted in writing to the Township Engineering Department. The Township of Cedar Grove reserves the right to reject all bids, to reject unbalanced bids, and to waive any informality in any bid. Disclosure of Investment Activities in Iran Form must be completed at the end of these specifications. Bid documents have been filed at the office of the TOWNSHIP CLERK of the TOWNSHIP OF CEDAR GROVE and may be purchased for $50.00 per copy by prospective bidders at that office during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 4:30 pm) on or after Thursday, August 25, 2022. Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the Contract Documents at the office of the TOWNSHIP CLERK, TOWNSHIP OF CEDAR GROVE at their offices at 525 POMPTON AVENUE, CEDAR GROVE, NJ 07009, (973- 239-1410) on proper notice. A non-refundable charge of $50.00 per set shall be paid to THE TOWNSHIP OF CEDAR GROVE
