Description | **As of October 19, 2022 bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid. The sealed bids must be delivered to the City Clerk, during regular business hours, prior to the stated bid opening time. This project consists of the construction of approximately 530 LF of storm sewer and 320 SY of PCC pavement to be constructed along Ferguson Ave. in Wood River Illinois. The proposed storm sewer will connect to an existing box culvert that crosses Ferguson Ave. just south of Old Saint Louis Road. Section 4 of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act requires that a Public Body, in its call for bids (advertisement) shall notify potential contractors that they will be required to compensate their employees at the general prevailing wage rate in the locality wherein the work is performed. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). All work shall be performed in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation edition in effect at the time of the bid. No bid will be accepted nor opened which has been received from any bidder who is not a bid document holder of record with the official bid document issuing entity identified in the Notice to Bidders. Each Bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Bidder's total bid price, such security being an acceptable bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond in the full amount of the bid. No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City of Wood River, Illinois, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities or technicalities in the bidding. |
