Description

This project consists of the rehabilitation and restoration of the ARMO Stone House located at the Arden Modjeska Historic Park, 29042 Modjeska Canyon Road, Silverado Canyon, CA, 92676. The structure is a vernacular building constructed in the late 19 th century that feature single-wall construction. The goal of the project is to sensitively restore and update the structural architecture to prepare for docent-led tours of the historic building. The building and site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All work must comply with Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring and Reconstructing of Historic Buildings. This specialized work requires an experienced preservation contractor qualified but not limited to the following: protect existing finishes (wallpaper), remove and salvage wood floors, stabilize the walls prior to installation of new footings and foundation, historic wood repair, historic wood window and door repair, and interior finishes. If the General Contractor intends to subcontract any of the stone, concrete or wood window work listed in the project scope, the General Contractor shall subcontract with one of the firms listed in the project technical specifications or the subcontractor shall have this technical specialty experience. General Contractor shall verify subcontractor's experience with two (2) references and identify the firm in the Subcontractor Listing.
