Description | The Mariposa County Public Works Department is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide design and construction services for the following project: 26 ft x 30 ft x 12 ft Metal Building at 5379 Highway 49, Mariposa CA,95338. The design/build proposals will be evaluated based upon price. The design and construction of the storage building shall include all costs associated with the work include, at a minimum, the following items: - Monolithic Slab and Footing - 26 ft x 30 ft x 12 ft PEMB - Gabled Roof w/ 3:12 pitch - 26 Gauge Roof and Wall panels - 1 - 10 ft x 10 ft Manual Rollup Door - 1 - Entrance Door - 2" Foam Insulation - Electrical Subpanel & Conduit - Interior & Exterior Lighting and Wall Outlets - Gutters & Downspouts - 900 SF 4" Sidewalk - 2 - Concrete-Filled Bollards The Sheriffs Office will remove with existing storage sheds on the site. - Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Total Construction Cost Faithful Performance Bond -- In a sum not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price as set forth in the Contract to guarantee the Contractor's faithful performance of all covenants and stipulations of the Contract. The bond shall contain a provision that the surety thereon waives the provisions of Sections 2819 and 2845 of the Civil Code of the State of California Payment Bond -- In a sum not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price as set forth in the Contract to guarantee the payment of wage, and bills contracted for materials, supplies, or equipment used in the performance of the Contract. The bond shall be in accordance with the provisions of Sections 3225, 3226, and 3247 to 3252, inclusive, of the Civil Code of the State of California, and Section 13020 of the Unemployment Insurance Code of the State of California. Said bond shall also contain a provision that the surety thereon waives the provisions of Sections 2819 and 2845 of the Civil Code of the State of California. Faithful Performance Bond and Payment Bond samples are contained within these Contract Documents. The prebid meeting is non mandatory. Contractors shall examine carefully the site of the work and the Contract Documents, and shall satisfy itself as to the character, quality, and quantity of the surface and subsurface materials or obstacles to be encountered before submitting a proposal. The submission of a proposal shall be conclusive evidence that the Contractor has satisfied itself through Contractor's own investigation as to the conditions to be encountered; the character, quality, and scope of work to be performed; the materials and equipment to be furnished; and all requirements of the Contract Documents. Separate mobilization is not provided. Payment for such costs will be considered to be included in the other items of work. This includes full compensation for furnishing all insurance, bonds, licenses, labor, materials, utilities, tools, equipment and incidentals, and for doing all the work involved in mobilization and preparatory work and operations, including, but not limited to, those necessary for the movement of personnel, equipment, supplies, and incidental to preparing to conduct work on and off the project site and other offsite facilities necessary for work on the project; for all other facilities, sureties, work and operations which must be performed or costs incurred prior to beginning work on various contract items on or off the project site. The County is not liable for any costs incurred by a proposer in the preparation and/or presentation of a proposal. The County reserves the right to assess a penalty of $500 per day for work exceeding the allowed days. The successful bidder and/or their sub-contractor, before contract award, must possess a current Class A General Engineering or Class B General Contractor Contractor's license issued by the State of California Licensing Board. Failure of the bidder to obtain the required license before award of the contract shall constitute a failure to execute the contract and shall result in the forfeiture of the security of the bidder. The County reserves the right to terminate the proposal process at any time; to reject any or all proposals; and to waive minor irregularities in the proposals received. The County further reserves the right to cancel or amend this RFP at any time and will notify all recipients accordingly. |
