Description | The Town of Wallingford is accepting bids for "Concrete Pads for Sludge Dumpsters - Qty Two (2) - As Per Specifications". The work will take place at the Wallingford Water Pollution Control Facility located at 155 John Street, Wallingford, CT. The Dumpster Loading Pad is located in front of the filter press garage doors at the sludge pumping building. The Dumpster Storage Pad is located to the west of the sludge pumping building. All work is to be completed within 90 days after notice to proceed. The contractor will provide sufficient labor, tools, materials, and equipment to complete the work in this time frame. The existing concrete pad for dumpster loading must be replaced in two parts to allow continuous operation of the plant. Approximately 10' of the existing 18' wide pad is to be excavated, replaced, and allowed to cure for 28 days minimum before the remaining area of the pad is replaced. The new concrete pad for dumpster storage can be completed any time during the contract period. The contractor must coordinate all work with the Sewer Division Operations to ensure continuous operation of the Facility. 4. General Materials 4.1. Concrete: Class F Concrete per CTDOT Form 818 Section M.03 4.2. Subbase: Shall meet requirements of CTDOT Form 818 Section M.02.01 for gradation "B" material 4.3. Steel Wear Strip: 16" wide x 1/2 " thick A-36 steel plate or approved equal 4.4. Reinforcement: #4 or #5 steel rebar, 12" x 12". 4.5. Bituminous Concrete Driveway: Shall conform to CTDOT 818 Section M.04, HMA S0.375. Gravel for the base course shall conform to CTDOT 818 Section M.02.01 for gravel fill and meet the requirements of Gradation "B". Thickness to match existing driveway. |
