Description

The construction manager shall have complete responsibility for installation ofthe work in accordance with the contract documents to include but not be limited to: site logistics, subcontractor administration, field management, change order management, submittal management, LEED submission & documentation, safety, quality control, scheduling, commissioning coordination, startup, testing, punch-list, warranty, compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Local, University laws, codes, rules and regulations and for all such other matters as may be necessary to produce a complete project. These Design and Construction Standards have been established for Architects and Engineers and other Professionals Service Organizations (PSO) who provide professional design and construction services to Ferris State University. This tool has been developed to economize Facility Management's and other University resources during design phases; the guide is the primary source for developing design and construction documentation. It should be thoroughly reviewed prior to initial meetings with the University. The purpose ofthese standards is to streamline all phases ofwork. By using these standards, the PSO and the University will reduce review time and duplication of resources. This guide has been developed in an effort to ensure that the end result of each project is a high-quality facility that maximizes design esthetic and utility and minimizes maintenance and operating expenses. All deviations from these standards must be reviewed and approved by Ferris State University. Experience and construction developments may lead to revisions ofthe Construction Document Standards. The PSO shall assist the University in updating these documents as part of Project Close-Out. These standards are not meant to be used as specifications, however in some cases supplemental specifications may be provided for project use.
