Elevator Restoration for Welch

Restoration of the two passenger elevators in Welch Hall to bring them back to the condition that they were in before the entire building renovation began. Both elevators have had flooding at some point during the construction. Elevator 4 had the top of the hoistway removed and rebuilt. Elevator 5 has had a modification to the smoke venting. It has been three years since the elevators have been in public use. The goal is to have the machine rooms, hoistways, and operational parts of the elevators cleaned, restored, and adjusted to meet the University’s accustomed standard of elevator maintenance. The cab interiors will be replaced on a separate purchase order, but the work will need to be coordinated through the UEM Elevator Project Manager to eliminate having to do things twice. The hall and car fixtures will be restored on a separate Purchase Order and the work will need to be coordinated through the UEM Project Manager. This project will include removing and replacing all of the hall fixtures, car operating panels, and car doors for refinishing by others. Cleaning of the hoistway and car top shall take place prior to the cab interior being replaced. All adjustments and pre-testing shall be complete before calling for final acceptance testing by the UEM Elevator Inspector.
