North District West Tank 2022 Painting Improvements

The Work for which consists of abrasive blasting and recoating of the entire exterior, interior wet and interior dry areas of a 2 million gallon capacity fluted column steel elevated water storage tank and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract. for removal of existing coatings and application of a new coating system (exterior, interior wet and interior dry) on a two (2) million gallon (2 MMG) fluted column steel elevated water storage tank. Surfaces to be coated shall be cleaned to a SP-10 near white blast (exterior, with full containment), SP-10 near white blast (interior wet roof area, dry belly of the bowl, dry riser, and entire fill pipe above ground level), SP-6 commercial blast (interior dry condensate area floor and walls, and condensate ceiling at ground level), and coated with an approved system. The tank will be drained by Division of Water personnel prior to commencement of this work. North District West Water Storage Tank – This 2 million gallon (2 MMG) elevated fluted column steel water storage tank is located at 430 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214. The North District West tank was constructed in 2000. The overflow water level for this tank is 145 feet above the top of foundation. The diameter of the fluted column from the ground up to the bottom of the bowl is 78 feet and the bowl diameter is 100 feet. There is unpaved area inside the fenced yard to stage this work. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing electric power at the site. The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools and equipment required to remove the existing coating and paint on all designated exterior and interior surfaces of the North District West tank (See Schedules A - F). a. All general field surface preparation, field priming, and finish painting requirements are specified under Part 2 (Products) and Part 3 (Execution) of this Section. b. The specified Protective Coating Systems are summarized in the Schedules A - F at the end of this Section. The North District West tank has cathodic wiring inside the wetted area and will need to be removed. The Contractor shall contact Corrpro Companies to re-install all wiring and perform testing
