Landscape Architecture and Scenic Highway Support Services

Minor Highway Design Support the Central Office with tasks associated with the administration and allocation of funds according to sections 339.2405, F.S. and 334.044(26), F.S. Support the Central Office Transportation Landscape Architecture staff with program requirements as described in Chapter 14-40, F.A.C. Support the development of new, or updated standards, policies, procedures, specifications, and design criteria. Assess sight distance, clear zone, site triangles and other roadway geometric criteria as it relates to landscape plantings. Assist with the development of new FDOT Design Manual (900 Series) landscape design and plans production chapters. Provide guidance on appropriate plant material selection and maintenance for transportation corridors and facilities. Assist with the Department’s liaison to the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA) -FDOT committee, and the Florida Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects (FL ASLA)-FDOT committee.
