Description | Request for Qualifications/Construction Manager Homes for the Brave is seeking qualified firms with proven industry experience to provide Construction Management services for the Addition & Renovation of the Homes for the Brave, 655 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT. The current proposed project is funded with a grant from the State of Connecticut, Department of Economic and Community Development, and the VA Capital Grant Program. The project will include the addition of an elevator providing ADA accessibility to all levels. The addition will also include two floors elevated above a plaza with 4 private bedrooms with bathrooms on each floor. The project also includes minor renovations to each floor as required to make a seamless connection to the addition. The second floor will also include renovations to the existing bedroom suites to transform them into 3 private bedrooms with bathrooms. The HVAC systems in the original areas of the building will remain as is. The HVAC system in the addition will be provided by a cassette type ceiling mounted unit in each room and corridors. The site will be modified by building a series of ramps from the parking lot to the first floor of the building providing complete ADA access from the parking lot. Other modifications to the site will be made as required to complete the construction and grade modifications for the new addition.The anticipated goal is to have the project construction completed by 30th of September 2023.
