Description

All Bidders must submit AIA Document A305 "Contractor's Qualification Statement" to be evaluated by the Owner and Architect prior to being issued plans and specifications. Bidders who do not submit the A305 Statement will be subject to disqualification. The A305 must show the Contractor's ability to complete the Contract in a satisfactory manner on projects of similar scope and complexity. References from past clients and projects must be included and will be verified. Application for Bidding Documents should be filed with the Architect promptly. Phones will not be available for use by Bidders. Fax transmittals and emails of bid form/proposal will not be accepted by the Owner.Any Bidder that is disqualified may respond to the Owner in writing within twenty (20) days of the Notice of Disqualification as to why the Bidder feels that the disqualification is unfounded. The written appeal from the disqualified Bidder will not change the decision already made on this project. However, a favorable appeal may open the way for the Bidder in question to bid on future Gwinnett County Board of Education projects." In any case, the Owner's decisions shall be deemed final. Contract, if awarded, will be on stipulated sum basis. Bids may not be withdrawn for period of sixty (60) days after date of receipt of bids. Bids shall be accompanied by Bid Bond payable to Gwinnett County Board of Education in amount equal to five percent of base bid. Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in amount equal to 100 percent of contract sum, will be required of successful Bidder.* These bonds shall be executed by Surety Company licensed to do business in State of Georgia, be listed on "Department of Treasury" Circular 570, and have an A. M. Best Company rating of minimum Class "A", with financial size of VI or better. Contractor is required to provide Property insurance (Builder's Risk) for only the amount equal to their contract sum. Bidders shall comply with the Georgia Security and Immigrations Act of 2006. Owner reserves right to accept or reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities.
