Description | The work consists of demolition of the existing pump station, installation of submersible pumps in new wetwell, installation of new valve vault and generator, construction of new electrical/control building and all related electrical and instrumentation work as indicated on the Drawings. The work also includes temporary bypass pumping, testing of the bypass piping, and site restoration. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders shall be Department of Administrative Services (DAS) pre-qualified under the category of either "Water and Sewer Lines" or "Water Treatment Plants." Bidders are advised that both the DAS Prequalification Certificate and Update (Bid) Statement must accompany the Bid proposal for projects estimated to exceed $500,000 under C.G.S. 4b91 as amended. Failure to supply these forms with the Bid will result in rejection of the Bid. The Project is subject to the prevailing wage laws under Connecticut General Statutes (CGS) 31-53 and 31-53a and is subject to prevailing wage rates as determined by the Connecticut Department of Labor Commissioner. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract. The Town reserves the right to amend or terminate this Invitation to Bid, reject all bids, waive any informalities, and award the contract to the bidder that is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents shall be submitted electronically in writing via emailed word documents to: DPC Engineering, LLC Email: bidding@dpcengineering.com In order to receive consideration, questions must be received by Engineer at least five (5) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents not later than two (2) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. |
