Description | The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to perform the following work: • Remove existing 3” x 3/16” straight aluminum nosing on each stair tread. The aluminum nosing was originally installed by epoxying the nosing onto a completed concrete base with a thinset grout surface layer behind the nosing to complete the tread. • Remove overlay grout. Clean and scarify existing concrete base surface. • Level/fill nosing area concrete and install new 5/16” thick aluminum nosing. Wooster 120 (or approved equal) and Tapcon fasteners (or approved equal) shall be utilized for this retrofit. Cut and fit nosing to become the formwork for the polyurethane concrete material. • Install the stair tread surface as follows: o 1st Coat Application: Tnemec Series 244 Ultra-Tread M (or approved equal) shall be applied at ¼” o 2nd Coat Application: Tnemec Series 246 Ultra-Tread Glaze (or approved equal) shall be applied at 8.0 – 10.0 dry mils • After curing to manufacturers recommendations, areas shall be cleaned as required. All work shall be coordinated with HRT’s Project Manager or designee. |
