Description | Town Hall and Fire Headquarters Mechanical Improvements The Town of South Windsor reserves the rights to amend or terminate this Request for Proposals, accept all or any part of a proposal, reject all proposals, waive any informalities or non-material deficiencies in a proposal, and award the proposal to the lowest responsible proposer Work (meaning shop drawings and procurement) for the project can begin immediately after the contract signing however the on-site construction at the Town Hall cannot begin until Fall 2023, exact date to be provided by the Owner. Contractor will be required to store any equipment that is received before the scheduled installation date. Questions concerning the process and procedures applicable to this RFP are to be submitted only in writing via e-mail directed to: Name: Clayton B. Major Company: Public Works E-mail: clayton.major@southwindsor-ct.gov Proposers are prohibited from contacting any other Town employee, officer or official concerning this RFP. A proposer's failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of mechanical improvements at two (2) existing buildings. B. The Work generally includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following major elements: 1. Removal of building materials and components, including selected existing mechanical and electrical systems. 2. Offsite disposal of all removed materials. 3. Town Hall: a. Removal and replacement of air-handling units. b. Relocation of boiler combustion air intake. c. Refurbishment of mechanical induction boxes with new dampers and provision and installation of new thermostats to said dampers. d. Removal and replacement of ductwork, cleaning existing ductwork to remain. e. Provision and installation of new motorized control dampers. f. Removal and capping of existing fuel lines. g. Removal of existing air compressor and refrigerated air dryer. h. Disconnection and removal from new air-handling unit and provision and installation of power to new. i. Provision and installation of 24V power supply to air volume damper. j. Relocation of two (2) light fixtures due to new ductwork. 4. Fire Headquarters: a. Removal of existing RTU, VAV boxes, air-conditioning unit, and base-mounted heating pumps. b. Provision and installation of new air-handling unit with remote condensing unit located on lower roof, valve boxes, and in-line heating pumps. c. Provision and installation of new BMS system for the existing facility to control and monitor all mechanical equipment. d. Provision and installation of power to new air-handling unit, pumps, and MDS. e. Provision and installation of wiring from generator to MDS for monitoring purposes. f. Provision and installation of CAT5/CAT6 cable from MDS to server. |
