1.2 Description of Services: Services required are as follows: spray Virkon S on all sides of shipping containers to include top and bottom. Vehicles must be sprayed to include wheel wells and undercarriage. A complete list of material is available in Enclosure (1). Upon arrival in Blount Island Command, Jacksonville, FL, the contract service provider will meet with the US Government representative, who is the maintenance manager of Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command (NEMSCOM). All application of Virkon must be validated and documented, see Enclosure (2). The material to be treated is currently located in Blount Island Command, Jacksonville, FL. This facility is located on an island in the St Johns River and has raised environmental concerns about the application of Virkon S and its potential damage to the local environment. Any company that performs the application of Virkon S must complete the following: 1.2.1 Manually plug and barricade any potential storm drains to prevent runoff to the environment. 1.2.2 Set up containment of spray area to catch all Virkon S. 1.2.3 Meet all other requirements set forth by Blount Island Command Environmental Office to ensure work is in compliance.
