Pipeline Cleaning Phase 2 - Interplant Sludge System Improvements

The project contemplated consists of: • Providing cleaning of four ductile iron pipelines to remove accumulated sludge solids • One pipeline at a time will be taken out of service, isolated and provided for cleaning • Providing removal of drain piping and providing new drain valves • Providing draining of pipelines at five low point vaults, including removal, transportation and disposal of the drained water and solids • Providing inspection of piping for accumulation of solids at five low point vaults and seven high point vaults • Providing hydro-cleaning of each Pipeline at selected vaults as directed by the Engineer • Providing removal, transportation and disposal of the hydro-cleaning water and solids • Providing televising of pipeline segments as directed by the Engineer • Providing removal and replacement of piping • Providing new pipeline isolation valves and pipe couplings • Providing venting of the pipeline at seven high point vaults • Providing Pipeline Insertion Gage (PIG) cleaning of each pipeline from selected vaults and from the Water Reclamation Facilities • Providing pipe bonding in each vault • Providing abatement of existing lead based paint coatings • Providing surface preparation and painting of the pipes and valves • Providing cleaning of the Vaults • All other work shown in the Specifications and on the Plans
