Traffic Signal Improvements

The City of Weslaco will construct traffic signal improvements at four intersections throughout the city. There are two new proposed traffic signals to be constructed at the intersections of Westgate & 6th St, and Bridge St & 18th St. These locations will use traffic signal poles with mast arms, radars for vehicle detection, APAs for pedestrian detection/indications, and LED signal lenses. Two existing traffic signals will be upgraded at the intersections of Bridge St & Pike Blvd, and Bridge St at 6th St. The traffic signal at the intersection at Pike Blvd is on span wire which will be replaced along with the signal heads and a radar vehicle detection system will be used for vehicle detection. The intersection at 6th St will be upgraded with new signal heads, conduits, traffic signal cable, and a radar vehicle detection system.
