Description | The University of Louisville Procurement Services, on behalf of the University of Louisville Golf Club, will receive bids from a qualified general contractor for the construction of a retaining wall at the golf course (hole #6). The bank of the green is rapidly deteriorating as you can see from the pictures in Exhibit A. The awarded contractor must provide all materials, equipment, labor, and supervision to complete the work as described in these bid documents. There will be high expectations for the awarded contractor to respect the property and keep damage to the greens as limited as possible, as golf course repair can be very difficult, time consuming, and expensive. Hole # 6 Retaining Wall - Full base block 180' x48" tall (8"-10" will be subgrade) Repair of all damaged areas. Granite/Limestone texture (natural gray in color) block (each block is 48" L x 16" H) Block sets back 1" per course Attention to detail (To ensure proper footers, setback, water depth; if flooding occurs) Material can be delivered to maintenance shop of Cardinal Club, then hauled to location with track machine skid steer Back fill will be #57-#3, 6"-8" of top-soil to be placed on top of stone Backfilled area will be sod (Fescue) includes damaged areas to turf by construction of wall. Vendors requesting clarifications to this Invitation to Bid may submit in writing questions for official response by the University. Questions should be sent via email to Evan Riddell at evan.riddell@louisville.edu no later than 2:00 PM, EST on March 3rd, 2023. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid executed by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of Kentucky and countersigned by a licensed Kentucky Resident Agent representing the Surety Company. (Certified Check Acceptable) It is agreed that in the event that this bid is accepted by the owner and the Contractor shall fail to execute a contract within ten (10) consecutive calendar days from the date of notifications of the Award of Contract, the Owner shall determine that the contractor has abandoned the contract and thereupon, the Bid shall become null and void, and the bid guarantee, check of bid bond which accompanied it shall be forfeited and become the property of the Owner as liquidated damages for such failure and no protest pursuant to such action will be allowed. The awarded Contractor shall furnish a performance and payment bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of this contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor, including payment of all unemployed contributions which become due and payable under the Kentucky Unemployment Insurance Law furnishings materials in connection with this contract The University reserves the right to reject any or all offers and to waive minor technicalities. o Project Schedule: provide a project schedule which includes work start and final completion.
