Description | You are invited to bid on a General Contract for the Renovation of an Existing Staff Suite located at 153 Alumni Lane, Hot Springs, Arkansas for the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas acting for and on behalf of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, hereinafter termed Owner, in accordance with drawings and specifications prepared by Harris Architecture Company, 1401 Malvern Ave., Suite 274, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901, (501) 625-7400. The bids shall be on a lump sum basis. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the time and date mentioned. Interested parties are invited to attend. Sub-contractors, Material Suppliers, and others may purchase bidding documents from Southern Reprographics for the cost of printing, which is non-refundable. Obtaining contract documents through any source other than the Design Professional listed above, or his representative(s) is not advisable due to the risks of receiving incomplete or inaccurate information. The documents obtained through the Architect or his representative(s) are considered the official version and take precedence if any discrepancies occur. A Bid Bond executed by the bidder and a surety company authorized to transact business in Arkansas payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the bid submitted must accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into a contract and execute such bonds as may be required. A Performance and Payment bond will also be furnished by the successful bidder within ten (10) days after receipt of the intent to award notice. Failure to furnish the required bonds may cause forfeiture of bid guarantee to the Owner as liquidated damages. Bidders shall conform to the requirements of the Arkansas licensing laws and regulations for contractors and shall be licensed before bid is submitted. Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. 22-9-203, the Owner encourages all small, minority and women business enterprise to submit bids for capital improvements. Encouragement is also made to all general contractors that in the event the subcontract portions of their work, consideration is given to the identified groups. Bids will be retained by ASMSA for a period of 60 days after the bid opening. No bids can be withdrawn during this timeframe. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formalities. |
