Description | Part 1: Part Name: ECMS 66296 Roadway Improvements Project Description: Roadway: to reduce vehicular crashes, a center turn lane will be added along SR 0443 from Ashtown Drive to E. Bridge Street (SR 0209) at the McCall Memorial Bridge. in addition, left-turn lanes will be added at the Mall Rd./Mall Ln. intersection and the E. Penn St./Mahoning Mt. Rd. intersection to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes. If geometrically possible, a right-turn lane will be added at the realigned intersection with SR 0902. The lengths of all turning lanes will be adjusted to satisfy current and projected traffic volumes. All proposed pavement markings will meet current standards for safety. Highway access from adjacent properties will be reviewed and adjusted as needed to improve traffic operations and safety along SR 0443. Roadway drainage will be improved in the vicinity of Carbon Plaza to eliminate roadway flooding reported to occur during heavy rainstorm events. 8-foot to 10-foot wide shoulders will be maintained throughout the project site to provide for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.The proposed center turn lanes along SR 443 is approximately 9,000 linear feet, which is 80% of the length of the project. In addition, left-turn lanes will be added at the Mall Road/Mall Lane intersection and the East Penn St./Mahoning Mountain Road intersection to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes. If geometrically possible, a right-turn lane will be added at the realigned intersection with State Route 902. Roadway drainage will be improved in the vicinity of the Carbon Plaza.
