Description | Nueces County is requesting qualifications for construction contract(s) with firms/General Contractors interested in providing Job Order Contracting Services for General Construction and Multi-Trades (Civil/Site Work, MEP/HVAC, Roofing and Painting) for various construction tasks. It is the intent of Nueces County to award one or multiple Job Order Contracts to the Proposers offering the best value to Nueces County in terms of technical qualifications and price. This contractor shall be capable of providing all upgrades or repairs to existing buildings as well as new small additions or structures. Diagnostic reviews, troubleshooting building issues, and preparing proposals for all costs and services needed to perform the work required, in compliance with the national and state building codes, are included. The work could include all of the above categories as well as other specialties including: stucco, masonry, concrete, framing, fencing, gyp board and finishes, painting, casework, trim, flooring, windows, elevators, doors/hardware, metal & steel work, landscaping, demolition, paving, and excavation. All applicable codes would apply. The County is also seeking qualifications from General Contractors with specific experience in seawall and/or coastal restoration. The ideal General Contractor will be required to have experience in the construction and maintenance of seawalls and other structures designed to protect resources from water, wave energy and erosion. The work could include all of the above categories as well as other specialties including: coastal construction projects including but limited to docks, boat ramps, marinas, living shorelines, or other projects requiring specific competencies regarding construction at or near the coast or development of the coast itself. Site assessment and administration of both the permitting and regulatory compliance processes needed to perform the work will also be required. All work, new or repairs, shall be installed in strict compliance with the manufacturer's requirements and industry standards, by workers trained to perform the work. All repair materials shall be compatible with the existing materials. All materials shall be new and of the highest quality available for this type of work. |
