Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Wallops Command and Data Acquisition Station (WCDAS) has a requirement to develop fire alarm system (FAS) designs in several, approximately 30, NESDIS satellite data acquisition station buildings at Wallops, VA. Ready-to-Advertise designs for the fire alarm systems are required for the Wallops Station buildings. The FAS for most of these buildings is approaching the end of its design life and needs to be upgraded to a fully addressable system. The design of the FAS shall comply with latest applicable codes such as NFPA 72, NFPA 90, and NFPA 101, along with other related industry standards and codes such as NFPA 70. The upgraded FAS shall be built on a Fiber Optic (FO) backbone for the entire campus and shall consist of fully addressable components. Under current configuration, most of the buildings have standalone FAS and suppression systems. In contrast, the upgraded FAS shall include an integrated central control station within the Operations Building.
