Description | The project includes, but is not limited to, the roof rehabilitation of the Baggage Claim and Ground Transportation buildings at the Clinton National Airport and is comprised of reroofing existing roof areas and the replacement of the lightning protection system and devices. Within the limits of this project, work involving the contract for the LIT Mechanical System Improvements will be in progress during construction under this contract. The Contractor shall coordinate its work with others in order to expedite the orderly progress and completion of all work in the areas involved. Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the Owner, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of Contract to him. Such bid guarantee shall be made payable to Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. Bidders must be licensed under the terms of Arkansas Code Annotation 17-25-101, et. Seq. A Commission goal of 19% has been set to promote diverse business participation for this contract. All bidders and proposers shall make good faith efforts, as defined by Appendix A of 49 CFR Part 26, Regulations of the Office of the Secretary of Transportation, to subcontract a minimum of nineteen percent (19%) of the dollar value of the prime contract to small business concerns owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The Little Rock Airport Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities in the bids and/or bidding process deemed to be in the best interest of the Commission and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive or conditional bids. Bids shall remain in effect 60 days after the bid opening date. |
