Description

SCOPE OF WORK The US Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake is seeking quotes for replacement of the control tower windows located in the water control structure of the dam. Expected Description: - Replacement to include disposal of existing quantity of 910, 12 inch by 12 inch glass block located in concrete windows around the water control tower of the Coralville Dam. - Current block is installed with masonry practice to a concrete set building. Replacement may be modified to current industrial practices or proposal to improve replaceability in the future while maintaining registered historical aesthetics. - The current structure and aesthetics are registered in the national historic places registry and therefore requires a replacement block equivalent to the existing. - Plans will need approved by COR and on-site Operations Project Manager prior to work start including safety plan, security plan. - All removals and installations shall be completed within 120 days of contract award. Variation may be coordinated with COR and KO for extensions. -Storage of supplies and materials is limited to the bridge area of the control tower and inside the control tower itself. - Installation of new glass block shall be in accordance to the manufacturers recommendation for block as well as masonry materials used. Site Location: Site location is the water control structure of the Coralville Reservoir adjacent to the administration office located at 2850 Prairie Du Chien Road NE Iowa City, IA 52240. Delivery: As soon as possible and to be completed within 120 days of award. SAM: If you provide the lowest quote for this work you must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). This registration can be obtained by calling the Assistance Center at 1-888-227-2423. Online registration is available at www.sam.gov. You will need a Dun and Bradstreet Number prior to completing the Sam registration. This D&B number can be obtained by calling 1-800-333-0505 or by accessing their website at www.fedgov.dnb.com/webform. Payment: Payment will be made via electronic funds transfer after delivery and acceptance of all work. Payment account information shall be entered in the SAM registration. An invoice shall be furnished within 5 days of completing. Sustainability: EPA Designated (CPG) Under the Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines (CPG) program, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) designates products that are or can be made with recovered materials, and recommends practices for buying these products. Any designated product that is being offered or supplied under this contract shall meet the minimum recommended content levels as identified under the CPG program. Offerors must be able to demonstrate that each offered product meets minimum content levels upon request. Accident Prevention The Contractor shall provide and maintain work environment in a manner that will safeguard the public and Government personnel, property, materials, supplies, and equipment exposed to Contractor operations and activities. Contractor shall comply with all pertinent provisions of the latest version of the U.S. Army Corps Engineers Safety & Health Requirements Manual, EM 385-1-1, 30 November 2014. Quality Control Plan The Contractor shall provide a quality control plan that will explain the Contractor's management plan for executing the contract. It describes the way in which the Contractor will produce deliverables, and the step-by-step approach that will be taken to ensure the quality of service.
