Description | The project consists of supplying all the labor, equipment, tools, and materials for the modernization of the elevator located at 50 Monroe Street. The project includes all work associated with the repair and modernization of the existing elevator, including renovations in the elevator machine room and electrical room and improvements to the existing elevator enclosure. Additionally, as part of this IFB there is the purchase and installation of a prefabricated ADA temporary ramp and lighting that will be used during the modernization of the elevator. The new ADA temporary ramp system will provide accessibility access from the plaza level that connects to the Rockville Metro Station to Monroe St (street level). Upon completion of the modernization of the elevator the contractor will be responsible for the disassembly of the ADA temporary ramp and relocation to a storage facility within the City of Rockville. The installation of the ramp is to be done in accordance with the specifications and drawings attached and shall not damage the existing sidewalk and staircase. The City of Rockville will provide a building permit. It is the contractor's responsibility to provide all associated and required trade permits. Oral answers to questions relative to interpretation of specification or the bid process will not be binding on the City. In accordance with City of Rockville ordinance no. 06-20, all responses to Request for Quotes (RFQ), Invitation for Bids (IFB) and Request for Proposals (RFP) shall be submitted electronically within the City's Collaboration Portal. Bid and proposal submissions are secure and will be reviewed and evaluated as outlined in the solicitation document.
