Description

Project Category Code: Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Paving (Asphalt or Concrete), Concrete Pavement, Masonry Construction & Restoration, Fencing/Guardrails/Handrails, Landscaping, Electrical, Buildings Commercial and Private Description: Project includes construction of new DPW building and site concrete, site asphalt, site fencing and landscaping The Project consists of the construction of the relocation of the Village of Germantown DPW Facility as outline below.. 1. The existing Public Works Campus is located at the southwest corner of Fond Du Lac Avenue and Division Road. The campus generally consists of a masonry administration building with four metal storage buildings. In addition, located directly across Division Road at the northwest corner of the intersection, is the Village's salt shed, a storage building and on-site storage. 2. The new site acquired is located at the southwest corner of Donges Bay Road and Wasaukee Road. The proposed DPW facility is approximately 127,000 square feet. It will house all the departments from the existing location, along with a new salt shed, Recycling Center, fueling station, water filling station and on-site storage. Operations from at least three existing separate locations will now be accommodated at this new location. 3. Exterior Construction: The proposed DPW will be constructed of insulated precast concrete wall panels. The roof structure will be long span steel bar joists/metal deck with a single-ply TPO membrane, fully adhered on 4" of polyisocyanurate insulation. All exterior glazing within the thermally broken window systems and overhead doors will be insulated glass. The hollow metal service doors will be insulated with the frames foamed in place. The precast wall panels will be prefinished with accent areas painted. The service doors and entrance canopy will also be painted. All other materials will be prefinished. 4. Interior Construction: The majority of the interior walls are masonry for durability. Masonry walls in the administration areas will be covered with gypsum board. Other masonry walls used for storage areas will be painted. Individual offices will be gypsum board partitions. All door frames will be painted hollow metal. Administration doors will be wood and other doors will be painted hollow metal. Finished administration areas will have a suspended acoustical tile ceilings while all other areas will have an exposed painted structure. Administration areas with a suspended ceiling will also receive carpeting. Almost all other floor areas will be sealed concrete. The mezzanine floor areas will be precast concrete plank with a concrete topping. All interior walls and the roof structure will be painted. Everything else will also be painted unless prefinished.
