Description

Division I - new dog river reservoir intake and pumping station For raised reservoir water surface EL. To 795.3 ft Division ii - new backup dog river intake and pump station at Dorsett bridge for raised reservoir water surface EL. To 795.3 Ft Division iii - dog river reservoir raised section entrance road For raised reservoir water surface EL. To 795.3 ft Contractor shall hold both a General Contractors License and Utility Contractors License. The appropriate State of Georgia General Contractors License and Utility Contractors License Number should appear on the face of the sealed bid envelope. Sealed bids will be accepted at the Authority prior to the bid opening, but no bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing time for the period of at least 60 days, except as allowed by state law. The work to be accomplished consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, personnel, plus perform all the necessary labor to construct a complete and functioning project as follows Division I - new dog river reservoir intake and pumping station For raised reservoir water surface EL. To 795.3 ft Provide all labor, material, and equipment, and all items of work for a complete and functioning reinforced concrete poured in place Raw Water Intake Structure on the edge of the existing Dog River Reservoir water surface elevation 760'. Invert elevation of intake structure will be 720', 40' below existing reservoir water level. Intake finish floor will be elevation of 816', and will contain metal screens and sluice gates. Intake Structure Building housing will contain a CMU wall with brick veneer building housing for, initially, two (2) 2500 hp vertical turbine pumps, piping, valves and fittings, and sluice gates, with 2 blank spaces for future pump. Four (4) 48" dia. DIP connecting the Intake Structure into the Reservoir will be used to withdraw water from 760' to 720'. Project will consist of an electrical building for the two (2) 2500 hp variable speed drives, electrical switch gear, and SCADA system inside a new electrical building. Project will also include site work, grading, and storm drain piping system. Project will include relocating two (2) existing 1500 kW Caterpillar Electric Generators from existing Intake Station to this New Division I Main Intake Pumping Station. Project will consist of performing connection of new 30" raw water line into the existing 30" raw water line inside existing Reservoir, and connection of a new 36" DIP raw water line into an existing 36" restrained joint raw water line. All construction shall be performed with the reservoir in operation at a water level full pool elevation of 760'. Contractor will be responsible for designing and constructing all shoring and coffer dam in existing Reservoir as required to construct this project. Division ii - new backup dog river intake and pump station at Dorsett bridge for raised reservoir water surface EL. To 795.3 Ft Provide all labor, material, and equipment, and all items of work for a complete and functioning reinforced concrete poured in place Raw Water Intake Structure with an invert elevation of 758.75' and a finish floor elevation of 816'. Intake structure will contain a building CMU wall with brick veneer building for housing two (2) existing 2500 hp vertical turbine pumps that will be removed from the existing intake and sent to factory to rebuild and installed in this New Backup Intake. New Intake Structure will include piping, valves and fittings, and sluice gates and four (4) 48" dia. DIP pipes to withdraw water from the raised Reservoir. Project will consist of an electrical building for the two (2) 2500 hp variable speed drives, electrical switch gear, and SCADA system, site work, and storm drain system. Project will consist of constructing a coffer dam for construction of new 30" DIP raw water line inside the Reservoir and performing connection with the Reservoir operating at full pool water surface elevation of 760'. The Contactor shall be responsible for designing and constructing a coffer dam as required for this project. All construction on this project shall be performed with the Reservoir at full pool elevation of 760'. Division iii - dog river reservoir raised section entrance road For raised reservoir water surface EL. To 795.3 ft Provide all labor, material, and equipment, and all items of work for raising a +/- 1650 linear feet section of Dog River Reservoir Entrance Road, using soil embankment, and connecting to the existing roadway. The raised Roadway section increase in height will range from 0 to +/-20' in height, using suitable and structural backfill, relocating +/- 1600 linear feet of 36" raw water ductile iron water line and +/- 1400 linear feet of 24" ductile iron water line, ditching, concrete pipe culvert with head walls, and all related items of work. All Contractor's bidding on this project shall meet the Contractor's Qualifications, and Contractor's Sub-Contractor's qualifications, listed in the contract specification documents. Contractors must be on, or promptly qualify for inclusion on, the Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority's PreApproved Contractors List in order to bid this job. All work will be performed on Authority property, within Authority easements, and/or inside public right of way. All anticipated property and easements required for the Project will be acquired by the Authority prior to award of the Project. All anticipated federal, state, and local permits required for the Project have been obtained. All bids must be accompanied by adequate bid security (certified check, bid bond, or irrevocable letter of credit) drawn in favor of the Authority and in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, which shall be subject to forfeiture as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to promptly enter into the proposed contract for performance of the Project with the Authority. Award may be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; however, the Authority reserves the right to reject all bids or any bid that is nonresponsive or submitted by a nonresponsible bidder. The Authority further reserves the right to waive technicalities and informalities in the Invitation for Bids and bids submitted. 5% BID BOND OR CERTIFIED CHECK
