Description

Contractor to provide re-insulation and heat tracing of the exterior condenser water piping serving the three southernmost cooling towers providing heat rejection to the south campus Central Plant. This section of piping, required to be reinsulated, is wrapped in heat tracing that has been damaged due to water infiltration and is insulated with fiberglass insulation and covered with aluminum jacketing. Rain water was able to penetrate the aluminum jacketing and fiberglass insulation causing the heat tracing to be electrically shorted and corroded the piping. At all times care will be taken to protect pedestrians from harm and inconvenience.
