Description

**As of August 22, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Sealed bids are hereby solicited for construction of the Holmes Run Pump Station Rehabilitation located at 6623 Dearborn Drive in Falls Church, VA. The project consists of the installation and operation of critical sewer bypass pumping systems; replacement of four (4) constant speed 3-MGD vertical end suction pumps with new dry pit submersible end suction pumps, piping and appurtenances; addition of variable frequency drives and motors; HVAC and electrical equipment and lighting upgrades; and new lavatory and associated plumbing. The project also includes the addition of a new bypass pumping vault and connection; new surge tank; new section of 20-inch ductile iron force main; new emergency generator; new carbon adsorption and liquid injection odor control systems; new generator and liquid odor control system enclosure structure; gravity sewer replacement/rehabilitation and manhole rehabilitation; modifications to the existing sewer diversion structure; demolition and relocation of electric and communication utilities; installation of a permeable paver system and replacement of existing driveway pavement and curb-and-gutter; landscape planting; and roadway curb and gutter. Only firms that have been pre-qualified will be eligible to submit bids for this project. Bids received from those that have not been pre-qualified will not be considered. This is a lump sum price contract. Contract length is 588 calendar days. All bidders shall comply with Article A-21, Fairfax County Construction Safety Resolution. Bidders may submit a request for determination of eligibility to bid. The request must be received by the county no later than fourteen (14) days before bids are due in accordance to Article A-18.E of Section A, Information For Bidders. All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the Director, Wastewater Design and Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 463, Fairfax, VA 22035-0056 or by emailing DPWESCAPWastewaterCollectionInquiry@fairfaxcounty.gov . To be given consideration, questions must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening thereof. The procedure specified under Section 2.2-4330(A) (i), VA Code Ann. shall apply: the bidder shall give notice in writing of his claim of right to withdraw his bid within two (2) business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure; The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County.
