2022 America Rescue Plan Act Drainage Improvement Project

As of December 7 2022, project was awarded to Carter Construction, LLC, awarded amount is $3,685,341.50. The City of Texas City is requesting bids for the2022 America Rescue Plan Act DrainageImprovement Project. This project includes three project locations within the city limits of the City of Texas City. The individual projects are discussed below: Bay Street Bridge Extension This project location involves the reconstruction of a multiple barrel culvert bridge on BayStreet Extension crossing channel A-2. The reconstruction of the channel crossing will involve removal of eight (8) existing 130"x 90"corrugated arch metal culvert pipes and replacing them with six (6) 9' wide x 8' high reinforced concrete box culverts. This projectwill also include the replacement of the concrete headwalls and wing walls, as well as theasphalt roadway pavement within the project limits. Ditch 50A Stabilization This project location involves the erosion repairof the existing ditch 50A, including channel lining with riprap, 4" sealed slab, 8' and 5" slope paving, excavation, and ditch regrading. Loop 197 Ditch Lining This project location involves the concrete lining along the south road side ditch on Loop197 North (25th Avenue) between the sidewalk and the sound barrier wall. The location of theditch lining is east and west of 26th street northand between 19th Street North and 14th StreetNorth. These ditches will be regraded andlined with 5" concrete slope paving. Bids must be sealed marked "BID #2023- 420 2022 America Rescue Plan Act Drainage Improvement Project" It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to ensure that his bid is actually in the Purchasingoffice prior to the expiration of the time anddate above first written. Bid security in the amount of five (5) percentof the greatest amount bid must accompanyeach bid. It shall be each bidder's sole responsibility to inspect the site of the work and to inform himself regarding all local conditions under whichthe work is to be done. It shall be understoodand agreed that all such factors have beenthoroughly investigated and considered in the preparation of the bid submitted. The Contractor and all Subcontractors for thisproject will be required to pay not less than theprevailing wage rates for the area of the project as required in the contract documents. Upon consideration of the proposals the CityCommission plans to award a Contract; however the Owner reserves the right to reject anyand all bids, to waive any and all formalitiesand technicalities, and to accept any bidwhich it deems advantageous to the owner.Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it hasor may have against the Owner, the Engineer,and their respective employees, arising out ofor in connection with the administration, evaluation or recommendation of any bid. Thesuccessful bidder will be required to furnish aperformance bond and payment bond in anamount of 100% of the total contract price.
