Design Services for the WWB PA Substructure Preservation Project

The Delaware River Port Authority (“Authority”) hereby invites interested professional consulting engineering firms to submit a Statement of Qualification for provided Design Services for the WWB PA Substructure Preservation Project. This public advertisement constitutes the Delaware River Port Authority’s formal solicitation to determine the interest of qualified firms in the aforementioned project. The Scope of Services the Authority requires shall include all Design Services to maintain and improve the transportation infrastructure at the Walt Whitman Bridge substructure, from Pier P1 to the west abutment (38 piers and 1 abutment). The toll tunnel rehabilitation is also included in this project. The project will address various reinforced concrete deficiencies, drainage, fencing and cathodic protection repairs associated with the reinforced concrete units. The DRPA intends to bid a comprehensive bid package to preserve and protect the substructure units and toll tunnel. The engineering design services shall include, but not be limited to an assessment of the existing field conditions/deterioration, comprehensive site investigation, testing, coordination with state, federal, local agencies, design alternatives, cost estimates and recommendations, final design, and preparing complete contract documents including contract specifications, drawings, construction schedule and cost estimate. Construction support services are included.
