Description | The Project includes, but is not limited to, the construction of a new elementary school building (approximately 100,000 s.f.) on the existing site and demolition of the existing building after construction is complete; this allows classes to continue in the existing school. The Project also includes a new early childhood/community hub to be incorporated (approximately 40,000 s.f.) into the site – whether as a distinct portion of the new building or in a separate building on the site. Incorporation of outdoor play space, parking, vehicle and pedestrian movement, and storm water management are expected for site development, among other things. A sustainable design framework will guide the design and construction, whether a certification program, an energy standard, or more, is an expectation. This should also include a thoughtful, sustainable approach to the demolition and sustainable waste management of the existing building and infrastructure. |
