Description | Asphalt mill and overlay for two streets and concrete utility cut repairs service Question Deadline: 09/07/2023 All concrete work must be installed before the installation of new asphalt road. Adjust all flat frame grates approximately 2 inches below sidewalk height. Adjust all valve boxes and manhole covers flush with new asphalt grade. City will provided new structures if needed. Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, supervision, sub trade costs, tools, fencing, barriers, equipment, clean up, rentals, transportation and any other items that may be required to perform the work as outlined below. This shall also include all material costs, sales tax, applicable federal, state or city taxes and/or fees. All work shall be performed in a professional, timely manner. The completion time for this contract is 60 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The successful Contractor shall provide the City with a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price. The Performance and Payment Bond must be in the form of a bond, or cashier's check (bank check). The Liquidated Damages (LD) for this contract is Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day. The City of Newton's current goal for minority participation for public building construction is five percent (5%). The City reserves the right to waive minor irregularities or minor errors in the proposal, if it appears to the City that such irregularities or errors were made through inadvertence. Any such irregularities or errors so waived must be corrected on the proposal prior to acceptance by the City. The City also reserves the right to reject any and all proposals. |
